So our 25 days of december starts TODAY...It was going to start yesterday but I had my grand baby Liam ALL day..I send lot's of great vibes to all the moms out there with little ones. My littlest one is 9 and I forgot how much work a toddler is ALL DAY LONG...We have a fun day though...So onto a WHIMSY HOLIDAY...So blessed for the shop and the the orders you ladies really like our trims and buttons...There will be a shop update later today. So with all this packing orders I came across a fun idea to re-use a box that I messed up on. USPS has these mail boxes that are for small stuff. They work perfect for all our trim and button orders. I did though find anther use for them, my December daily album. Now PDW did not do a album this year only because my goodness there are allot of them out there. We will have a mini holiday kit though. So today I am going to share my start of the album and how I created it. Make sure you check back each day on the blog all month long. It might me a craft, a sewing project or a recipe or fun holiday tip. Happy Whimsy Holidays my friends!!!!
Gather Supplies...this is part of our Holiday Mini kit and a USPS box. Now the one I used I damaged it so I re-used it. I am going to show you one from scratch...
Take your box and open it all the way up trim off the flaps so it ends up just a long box. These small ones were so perfect because all the scoring is all ready there.
so I covered the front with a few different patterns, I also stitched around the cover but only after I covered the inside.
I used a cute wrapping paper from target only because it was long enough to cover the WHOLE inside. the album is about a 6x9
Once I covered it I created my cover. {most important part}...Using a doily I adhered it first and then layered a few strips of pattern paper. Using my winter frolic cartridge I created the stocking it is the shadow part. I then pop dotted that onto the doily area. Using a hot glue gun I adhered the glitter tree { a ornament} then adhered the sweet Epiphany Star to the top of the tree. Then taking the crate paper chipboard die cut pieces I adhered the two shapes together and using a pipe cleaner I adhered that to the top to make the "ornament". I then stamped the image onto pattern paper and using my Epiphany scallop tool created the center for the ornament and then hand typed the rest of the title. Then adhered the whole thing to the tree... SO DARN CUTE! Make sure if you do not own any Epiphany tools that you get some especially for the holiday season there is endless amounts of creativity you can use them for.
i love trim but yarn has become my new favorite..I just wrapped the spine in all sorts of coordinating colors.
I punched wholes in the spine and just put 2 rings through it. these are all my pages to document each day I will share each page with you on our PDW fan page and our twitter account plus special discounts all month long.. so be sure you are following both.. :) there are just pattern papers..tags...card stock..and some other misc stuff I had..there is a bingo card and a flash card...
I hot glued velcro for the flap closure..
See super simple...{well kinda}..So do you have a december daily album or one that you have created I would love to see it..make sure you think it here on the blog or pop on over to our MESSAGE BOARD and share it...I have a thread all set up for the holidays....HAPPY CRAFTING!!!

all I can say is "WOW" with matching drooling eyes.Perfect.Nice DIY project you have there.Merry Christmas in advanced.
