How in the world is it already January 12th? The last time I blogged was August 7th, YIKES! Hopefully 2016 will be the year of #periscope tutorials and much more blogging. How are all of you? Are any of you still here? If so HELLO, and if you are new WELCOME. We have some great things going on for 2016. For starters a new site is coming and along with a brand new area to shop we are hoping to add a place to talk and share. 2016 also brings 4 more Whimsy Weekends. I f you have not ever attended one you NEED to! Be sure to click this link to read all about them.
This past weekend I was at the awesome Craft and Hobby show aka CHA. I just love that show even though it has shrunk in size it is still a fabulous time for me. I get to see everyone, talk and order all the new product. We are in the works to bring back our Polkadot Whimsy kits later this year and I am so excited for that. I have missed kitting those and hunting for all the fun doo-dahs. I got to attend the Simple Stories Birthday Bash {it was a ice cream social}. They gave the cutest birthday bags filled with product and further down the post I have one to give away :). So great to see a company thriving in this industry and they are such a honest and nice company to support. Plus they have some adorable product coming out. While I was at CHA I also ordered some stamps and inks for the shop. Hats off to stamp store owners, I have no problem ordering pattern paper but stamps was a whole new ball game. There are so many I think I ordered a good assortment though. CHA is also the best place to see all your favorite people in the industry, I love talking with all of them and have known most of them forever. I didn't take that many photos this show I was to busy talking every five minutes, lol. The show for 2017 is moving from Anaheim to Arizona I really think that will be a great show. I know it won't have Disneyland across the street but I am always up for a new adventure and AZ is so family friendly that I will most likely take the kiddos. If you want to see pictures of CHA and are on Instagram this is the hashtag #cha2016 #pdwcha2016 and here is our instagram page.
Polkadot Whimsy and 2016, what will that bring? For starters like I said above a new site. Etsy is a great platform for us and all our hand made stuff but for a true online shopping site it needs to be e-commerence. I told my husband last year I really missed two peas in bucket and all it offered, his reply umm ok. {lol} I don't think we would ever grow to that magnitude but hey you never know that is what dreams and goals are for right? I love what I have grown on Etsy all my planner girls and project lifer's and scrappers. It's so awesome to ship all over the world and wonder what all of you are doing with your product. If you have ordered from us be sure to always the #polkadotwhimsy so we can see your creations. In 2016 we want to start showcasing your projects and give stuff away, like a small gift card or free shipping on your next order just to say thanks! I was at CHA this past weekend because all of you and your wonderful support. I also want to really start using periscope as a great teaching tutorial platform. Teaching has always been a HUGE passion of mine and sharing all my finds and ideas with all of you. Hoping to better figure that out. It won't come with the launch of the new site but definalty later in the year a message board a place to talk and share all our stuff. I looked into a gallery but still on the fence on that one. What are your thoughts do you still use those? So those are a small portion of the goals for PDW, I hope you follow along and watch us grow again. Exciting times!
