Here at PDW though we have been super busy. Cleaning out and re-organizing. I hope you enjoyed the flat rate box sale we still have a few left here in our ETSY shop. We also have a FUN crop this weekend and still have spots for either SAT or SUN or BOTH days...You will LOVE a WHIMSY CROP, Hope you can join me!!! All the info is HERE. So I wanted to share with you my 4th of July decor. Now this DIY decor can be done for any occasion or event or just to simply spruce up your place.
FRAME: This frame was just a plain pink wood backless frame. I ripped 7 strips of fabric and wrapped it around the frame. I then tied white string at the top and zig zagged it around the frame to create a place to attach photos. {which I trimmed and mounted on card stock to look like Polaroids} I also added a few doilies and pattern paper to make it look like a banner. I used my Epiphany crafts star tool and decorated the paper clips to attach the photos to the string. This could be done for birthday parties or baby showers or just a cute spot to display photos or notes.
BERRY BASKETS: I bought THESE and wrapped yarn around each side and then took white cotton fabric and created a ruffle and hot glued the ruffle around the top of the basket. I love these baskets there perfect for a catch all or entertaining.
COVERED LETTERS: We all know how to do this BUT I wanted the "flag" look and I didn't want to have to create the flag per letter and punch out a bunch of stars. So while I was at the dollar tree I came across the paper lanterns...PERFECT..I ripped them apart and took the wire out and then adhered them to the letters and they made the perfect flag letters and added texture. You just have to at times look at stuff and think outside the box. I mean that is why we are all creative anyway right?? You can also see in the photo I covered old books with fabric and also at the dollar tree I bought paper fans and then put my own embellishments and touches on then all for 1.00.....
